Westpac LifeSaver Rescue Helicopter Landings Program
Bringing safety and education to life through interactive experiences with the rescue helicopters and crew.
Landings Program
School meets safety: Land a rescue helicopter visit for your school
Extending our iconic Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Service (WLRHS) into the classroom, students across Australia can experience the thrill of a Westpac rescue helicopter landing at their school and a chance to meet the crew who dedicate their lives to helping others. The landings program gives kids the chance to get up-close-and-personal with a helicopter, it’s lifesaving equipment and our local heroes.

How does it work?
We’ll work with a contact at your school to coordinate a safe and engaging landing. This will involve:
- Assessment of a compliant landing zone (for example, ensuring the school has a large oval or field, is free from obstructions such as trees, powerlines, and houses, has a safe viewing area for students and a wet weather contingency for a crew presentation).
- Ideas for students of all ages to get involved and engage with the event.
- Pre-event briefings for all key contacts to run through the format for the landing, including roles & responsibilities.
- Local PR/media opportunities.
The landing and presentation will take approximately 1.5 hours and we’ll work with you to ensure the best possible experience.
Express your schools' interest
Please note that we are not currently accepting new school landings at this time.
