What our graduates have to say
“Coming from an entry-level role into the Westpac Finance & Accounting Graduate Program, I can testify that the learning and growth opportunities provided to Westpac Graduates encompass not only finance technical skills but also professional and leadership skillsets.
As a graduate I have spent time rotating through Group Finance Teams focusing on expense management as well as working in our Business Lending division reporting monthly results and gaining valuable business partnering experience.
I also had the opportunity to contribute to some high-profile events and activities such as the 2023 Westpac Annual Report and Full Year results announcement; represented my division on the editorial team for the ‘Inside Finance’ newsletter and presented process recommendations to the Finance Executive Leadership team. All of these were great confidence builders and boosters!
Along with two twelve-month homebase roles within finance, I undertook a '6-week Micro-Experience' with the sponsorship team, which was tailored to my preferences.
Beyond the learning opportunities, Westpac's culture stands out as welcoming and supportive. It's a place where diversity is valued, collaboration is encouraged, and everyone has a voice. This inclusive atmosphere has made my journey here not just educational, but genuinely enjoyable. The social events organised as part of the graduate program further enrich this culture, providing valuable networking opportunities and fostering connections beyond just the finance team.
I am looking forward to rolling off into a full-time position; being able to put my new skills to immediate use, and to start my awesome career with Westpac!”
Tim, 2023 Finance & Accounting Graduate.
